Endodontics is the study and treatment of dental pulp, the living tissue found inside teeth. If dental pulp becomes decayed or infected, a root canal is performed to remove the damaged tissue and save the tooth. Broken fillings, deep cavities or cracks can allow infections to develop. A sore tooth as well as little or excessive sensitivity to hot and cold may indicate that an endodontic treatment is needed. You’ll be happy to learn that many pain-free techniques now exist to perform this type of procedure. Our dental team will also do everything possible to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible. An infected tooth can be painful, so be sure to visit your dentist regularly and between checkups if necessary.
